The Brazilian mezzo-soprano Josani Pimenta holds a Doctorate in Vocal Performance from UNESP, a degree in Conducting and Transverse Flute from UNICAMP, where she also obtained a Master of Arts degree in Conducting. She participated in the Voice Improvement Course - Integrated Voice Training, promoted by speech therapist Mara Belau (CEV), in 2011. Josani Pimenta is certified by Somatic VoiceWorkTM - The Lovetri Method, Level I (2017). She has performed as a soloist in various concerts in Brazil, Latin America, Europe, and the United States. She is dedicated to researching Brazilian music, especially the editing of songs by Camargo Guarnieri and the promotion of Brazilian Portuguese in singing for foreigners. In 2009, she was awarded in the Brazilian Classical Song Interpretation Contest (São Paulo - SP), and in 2016, her thesis was awarded in the Capes Thesis Award. In 2015, she released her first CD with classics of Brazilian Christian music, and in 2020, she released an album of classical repertoire with Psallo Trio, alongside horn player Eduardo Minczuk and pianist Marcelo Pimenta. In 2023 she was a Guest Artist at the Juilliard School of Music in NY, working on the Brazilian Portuguese Pronunciation of the famous Bachiana Brasileira N. 5 by Heitor Villa-Lobos. In 2024 Josani launched her second contemporary album called “E cantarei a vida…”. Currently, Josani lives in the United States.
